The Cornelius Christmas Program allows groups and individuals from the community to sponsor local families that Special Kids — a Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs — serves and who are in the most need during the Christmas season.

“We are looking to pair 70 families with sponsors this Christmas,” says Ginger W. Spencer, director of marketing for Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center. “It’s first come, first serve and normally fills up by mid-November.”

You’ll be anonymously paired with a family and be able to purchase from a list of specific needs from each family as well as a few wants from the kids like their favorite cartoon character or sport to purchase a few fun items. You’ll need to drop off your items Dec. 14 – 15. If you would like to be a sponsor, register online at

Special Kids is also partnering with The Ascent for a family climbing event on Saturday, Nov. 21.
