After 10 months of tiresome work, Earth Experience: Middle Tennessee Museum of Natural History is pleased to show off the final construction of T-Rex.
“Our Tyrannosaurus rex is a cast of the original T-Rex which is at the Museum of the Rockies,” says Alan Brown, executive director of Earth Experience. Although T-Rex is complete and viewable at the museum, their work continues. “We’ve started on another skeleton of a dinosaur called struthiomimus,” adds Brown. However, it’s going to be more than just putting the pieces together on this one. Brown and his team have molds of the original bones of which they must first make casts of each bone before they can even begin the assembly process of the struthiomimus.
Oh, and if you’re 16 and older, you can even sign up to go on a dinosaur dig in Montana with them in July. Find them on Facebook to learn more!
